Lesund Villas is a housing development project in in Lesund, Aure kommune in Norway. It is located in one of the very few areas in the region where it is given permission to build at the edge of the coastal zone. Therefore advantages of the waterfront site have been translated into architecture. Large window areas, spacious terraces and viewing platforms allow inhabitants to enjoy panoramic views towards the fjord and rocky landscape. The location of the houses provides optimal sun exposure. A spacious breakfast terrace on the East side catches long morning sun, while terrace and balcony on the West are exposed gets sun from early afternoon till late night. The building volumes are shifted between each other to provide row houses with privacy and give a feeling of individuality. Natural building materials blend houses into surrounding rough landscape.
