Scenography for the Grand Music Award 2015 ceremony is contemporary artwork integrated in classical environment – parametric glacier in Latvian National Opera house. Through shape, materiality, texture and light it reproduces processes in nature and creates background for classical music concert.
The installation is designed in parametric technique. Crescent wall of two layers in 11 m height is modeled of grid of 3000 curved plastic cones that change shape and size upwards. Their single-sided mat from back of the wall absorbs light color rays and smooth surface from front creates light reflections. Arched texture of scenography visually creates exaggerated perspective and feeling of cave that surrounds musicians.
