Antonio Vivaldi's opera Bajazet is the story about the Ottoman Sultan Bajazet, who has been captured by the Tatar prince Tamerlano and imprisoned in his own palace at Bursa. Instead of depicting historical events according to the libretto, the concept of the staging and scenography is to create a theater in a theater. The stage is designed as a contemporary sound recording studio, in which a movie about Bajazet and Tamerlano is being recorded until one of the protagonists starts to mix the movie with reality and associate himself and the other protagonists with historical characters.
